Our first ever Helper Appreciation Month was a huge success! Here’s a final thank you to our generous sponsors, and the wonderful helpers and families who participated in our popular helper celebration party

As we mentioned when we kicked off Helper Appreciation Month this May, it was all about finding new ways to stretch out our gratitude. Whether teaching kiddos the importance of saying “thank you” to Auntie, ensuring helpers looked after themselves with discounted health and medical services, or encouraging them to have fun by pampering themselves or picking up a new hobby, thanks to the hard work and generosity of companies, organizations and individuals across Singapore we were able to do so much to express our gratitude and appreciation on a large scale to helpers in Singapore.

Be sure to watch this short film that we’ve put together to show why we think it’s so important to say thank you — every day of the year!

Helper Celebration Party 2019

We also want to say a big THANK YOU to all the families that came to our Helper Celebration Party on Saturday 1 June! What an awesome turnout for a fun family day at the Australian International School (AIS), and a great way to wrap up Helper Appreciation Month.

In case you missed it, check out the deets below and stay tuned for next year’s event!

Venue & Food
Once again AIS hosted us in their state-of-the-art Early Learning Village, with a fabulous 1.8m grazing table by Kiss My Pans, delicious morsels by the ladies from Family Favourites and those famous cookies from Luke’s!

Fun Activities for Helpers
We kicked off the event with a flawless performance by Chris and Diana, followed by some high energy Bollywood dance moves from Dance Embassy, and Grace from Rhythm in Me got EVERYONE moving! Helpers were treated to makeovers by Suha Haris, Powderwowder, Jennifer G Chua Mua and gorgeous manicures by Nodspark.

Keeping the Kids Busy
We had an amazing selection of activities to keep the kids entertained in our new dedicated kids’ room, including a wide variety of activities from Party Mojo – glitter tattoos, henna tattoos, face painting and more! Kids were kept busy learning circus tricks such as hula hooping and juggling with the awesome team from Camp Magic and then got creative with Little Artists Art Studio, completing thoughtful cards for their aunties.

Goodie Bags
Each helper went home with a goodie bag thanks to the generous sponsorship of KC Dat and Maids R Us, as well as Nodspark, Lush, and the Singapore Kindness Movement.

Raffle Prizes
FAST, Aidha, Uplifters and Sassy Mama each donated a gift for the raffle draw; A Helping Hand and Family Favourites donated cookbooks; and the money raised from the raffle (over $400) was also awarded to a lucky helper!

Sponsor Tables
We also had amazing support from our partner organisations Aidha, FAST and Uplifters, as well as FWD Insurance, CHI Integrated Medical Centre and Starhub.

If you (or your helper) have any feedback about the Helper Celebration Party, or Helper Appreciation Month, we’d love to hear from you so that we can continue to improve on the initiative for 2020. Please email us at [email protected] if you’d like to share any thoughts or ideas.

Once again, thank you so much to everyone who participated, and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2020!
