Hamleys Toy Store Arrives in Singapore

The world’s oldest toy store is coming to Singapore, mama! That would be Hamleys, a British institution right up there with Buckingham Palace and Big Ben that’s been around for a whopping 255 years. Later this month they’ll open a brand new Hamleys Toy Store Singapore location spanning two storeys and 12,000 square feet at Plaza Singapura!

Famous for allowing kids to test out the toys through interactive “playtime” and live toy demonstrations by the fun-loving staff, Hamleys has got over 10,000 toys on offer, ranging from the traditional to the high-tech (though they’re particularly famous for their signature teddy bears and toy soldiers!).

The full store will be opening later this month, but from now through 12 July you and the kiddos will definitely want to check out the Hamleys Toy Fair happening in Plaza Singapura’s Main Atrium. With a special Brittania theme that features plenty of replicas of well-known British icons to get everyone in the mood for what’s to come, they’ll also be selling popular go-to brands like LEGO, Hasbro, Fisher-Price and Takara Tomy. In fact, there’ll be tons of exclusive products on sale from beloved collections like My Little Pony, Thomas & Friends and more.

While you’re there, mama, you’ll definitely want to partake in Hamleys’ social media contest for your chance to win shopping vouchers worth up to $500. Just pose with one of the replica British icons (like Big Ben, the red telephone booth, Tower Bridge, etc.), upload your photo to Instagram, like and tag @plazasingapura, and include the hashtag #psplaytime in your caption. Three lucky winners will get a $500 shopping voucher, while another seven will receive $50 vouchers. That goes a long way toward some pretty awesome toys! The contest runs through 26 July with winners announced on 5 August, so get snapping, mama!
