You’ve got more options for international schools than you think, mama! Find out more about Fairview International School, its fantastic IB curriculum, and refreshingly low school fees!

Many parents are keen to send their children to one of Singapore’s excellent international schools… until they see the price tag. As the Straits Times recently reported, expats can now expect to pay more than $500,000 in school fees between Primary 1 and pre-university. Yikes!

So what to do? Expat kids aren’t guaranteed a spot in local schools, which leaves parents between a rock and a hard place. But with international school fees averaging almost $31,000 a year (multiply that times two or three kids!), what other options are there?

Well, mama, have you considered JB? Fairview International School is a leading International Baccalaureate (IB) World School network with five campuses in Malaysia, including one just across the border in Johor Bahru. No need to freak out about driving back and forth over the border: tuition includes security escorted daily transport from the Grandstand/Turf City and Woodlands with a maximum trip length of about 50 minutes – that’s less time than many kids in Singapore ride school transport!

So what are the school fees? $13,000 per year, mama. That’s right: less than half the average cost of a year’s tuition in Singapore. School fees include daily meals as well! You can be confident your kiddos are getting every bit the quality education: Fairview’s academic programme is backed by the UK national curriculum that’s driven by concepts, inquiry, technology-integrated learning, and action & service charity programmes. The school has a strong presence in Malaysia, having established its first campus back in 1978, and the JB campus has been around for eight years and counting.

There are children from more than 55 different nationalities across the vibrant student body, which starts at age 3 with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and continues to the Middle Years Programme for kids age 11-16. There are plenty of day students from Singapore and Malaysia, but Fairview also offers boarding accommodations, even on a temporary basis for students whose parents might be traveling.

Keen to find out more, mama? You’ll be even keener when you hear they’re offering $1,000 off new Singapore enrolments until further notice – bringing annual fees down to just $12,000 (still a pretty penny, but a whole lot easier to swallow than $30,000+!). Feel free to call Fairview’s Singapore office on (+65) 9855 8604 for more info or to arrange a visit to the state-of-the-art campus. Then start thinking of what you can put all those savings toward!
