We Need Your Help for Helper Appreciation Month! Can You Spare 3 Mins for This Survey?

May is for Helper Appreciation. An opportunity not only to show gratitude to domestic helpers, but also to address important social issues affecting the health and well-being of migrant domestic workers. This year for Helper Appreciation Month we are partnering with A Good Space Co-operative. One of its volunteer groups is led by Bhing, a domestic worker for 27 years who has also written for Sassy Mama (read her touching Open Letter to Employers here).

They are trying to survey 500 employers or potential employers of foreign domestic workers before early June and will share the results with the Ministry of Manpower to spark a conversation on a policy change to consider enabling domestic workers to see their potential employer’s hiring history. This vital information equips helpers with valuable insights into working environments, identifying red flags, and making well-informed decisions of their own.
