Tablescape is located in Park Hotel but manages to not feel too “hotel-y” with its elegant interiors and pops of pastel pink soft furnishings. Really it’s all about the bread here. It comes on its own dedicated trolley — half a dozen types from olive to sourdough to a squid ink brioche, served alongside homemade butter. The bread is freeflow and a definite highlight; makes us wonder what delights the hotel breakfasts have in store! The rest of the dishes are executed well, ranging from Salmon Gravlax ($16) with cream cheese ice cream to Prosciutto wrapped Monkfish and Maine Lobster on Risotto in Armagnac Lobster Bisque ($38), and a Smoked Braised Black Angus Short Rib ($30) braised with red wine, carrots, celery, and onions for 8 hours in the oven. Desserts ($12) are another win. Again, they have their own trolley; think Spicy Mango ice cream-mousse cake, Raspberry Lychee with Almond Cake, Camembert Cheesecake and an endless variety of chocolates. Come hungry.
