You’re invited: The Canadian International School’s new PYP Bilingual Mandarin Immersion Programme Open House!

Ain’t no Mama got time for that! What if we told you that there’s a new bilingual Mandarin programme at a leading international school with a successfully proven track record in the IB curriculum?

For the 2014-2015 school year, the Canadian International School (CIS) is launching their new Mandarin bilingual immersion programme for students four to six years, providing full-time Mandarin exposure by qualified PYP teachers. That means your little linguist will learn all of the goodies of inquiry-based learning and intercultural understanding under the umbrella of Mandarin language acquisition and real-life communication skills. Each classroom, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 1, will be staffed by two PYP teachers – one native English-speaking teacher and one native Mandarin-speaking teacher – giving students the gift of the gab in both languages at the crucial early foundation stage of language acquisition.

While other schools only offer enough Mandarin to cover dim sum Sundays with the family, the Canadian International School gives all-day, full-exposure to both English and Mandarin language study at both its Tanjong Katong and Lakeside campuses, so parents on the East and West can avoid those treacherous pre-dawn bus pick ups. CIS is also one of the few schools to offer all three International Baccalaureate programs – PYP, MYP, and DP – so your little ones can grow into world thinkers all the way through to university.
