Homewares shopping in Singapore just got quite a bit more interesting with the recent arrival of Crate & Barrel in Ion, and also with the furniture behemoth’s sister brand, CB2 (which is super-modern and fun!) popping up in Peranakan Place. The store space is done beautifully, with sensitivity to the heritage setting, and more than a nod to our Asian location with local artworks and old shop signs integrated with their display setups. And the shop is far bigger than you might imagine from street level, sprawling over 6,000 square feet. There are fabulously sleek white and bright pieces of furny, colourful rugs, mirrors and lamps and covetable kitchenwares, including particularly fun plates and accessories. The look is super-cool and will inspire you to want to chuck out the old and bring in the new! If you’re already all kitted out, there’s a great selection of little gift bits which would make lovely little pressies for friends.
