Kids Get To Build Their Own Meal At McDonald’s This Children’s Day (+ Free Vanilla Cone!)

Let the little ones take the reins this Children’s Day by building their own meal at McDonald’s! Plus, a fun activity and free Vanilla Cone to commemorate their special day.

Let’s take a second and put ourselves in the tiny shoes of our kids. From what to eat at breakfast to what time they need to be in bed, kids often have their day carefully planned for them. So when is a better time for them to take the reins, if not Children’s Day–and at one of their top places to eat? This Children’s Day, McDonald’s lets them decide with “My McDonald’s, My Way”. From 24 September to 7 October 2026, kids get to build their own meal, ice cream included.

Kids get to pick their fave classics, sides, drinks & desserts

Forget the usual McDonald’s meal combos of one main, one side and one drink. With Build My Meal, kids pick one main and two of anything: sides, beverages, even desserts. Yes, for two weeks, ice cream is officially a “side”!

Mains range from classics like the Cheeseburger, Filet-O-Fish® and McChicken® to breakfast favourites like the Scrambled Egg Burger and Sausage McMuffin®, plus heartier options like the Breakfast Deluxe and more. For sides, kids can choose from Hashbrown, Apple Pie, McWings (2 pieces), Corn, or go straight to dessert with Vanilla Cone, Sundae or OREO® McFlurry®. Drinks count as a side too, so MILO®, Coke and Kiyo Grape Juice are all fair game!

Choice doesn’t stop at the tray. Kids can also take part in a Children’s Day activity that comes with a sweet treat. Simply approach the staff for a free, special bookmark, fill it up and pick an activity of their choice to mark the occasion. Once they’ve sealed it with a signature, they can show it to staff and redeem a free Vanilla Cone Be-Our-Guest card!

Just a couple of things to note: the bookmark activity is available at all outlets except McDonald’s NTU, Temasek Polytechnic, Caltex Dunearn, Shell Tampines, Shell Hougang and Shell Havelock, while Build My Meal can be enjoyed in-store and via Drive-Thru (mobile order on the McDonald’s app), though it’s not available for delivery.

So this Children’s Day (24 September to 7 October 2026), bring the family down to McDonald’s and let the kids take the lead on the menu and beyond.
