Run by a mama of three who’s also a professional Netball player and early childhood educator, Kinetic Kids offers tailor-made programmes to give little ones aged 2-6 the basic movements that will help them develop fundamental sports skills later on. They also emphasise social and emotional skills and sportsmanship qualities, in a nurturing environment that’s perfect for littlies. We love that they hold all their classes outdoors in a variety of beautiful locales around Singers, as one of their core beliefs is that fresh air and sunshine will help kiddos develop better spatial awareness and visual perception skills.

MonkeyDragons-Sports-Roundup-SMSG

Superfly Monkey Dragons
Besides having a ridiculously cool and memorable name, this unique company teaches kids the basic fundamentals of Parkour, the French training discipline geared toward moving through obstacles as quickly and efficiently as possible. Ever seen guys seemingly walk on walls or dive and roll off tall buildings? They were probably doing Parkour! Regular classes are generally geared toward ages 13 & up, but we love the hourlong Family Parkour class that lets parents and kids as young as 3 or 4 practice skills together, with a focus on strengthening the body and developing control, coordination and balance to master the precise movements.

Age: 3 & up (younger children are welcome to give it a try if parents think they’re ready)
Where: Family Parkour is at Somerset Skate Park & Dhoby Ghaut Exit B. Click here for a full list of timings and locations.
How much: $25 per family trial – $35 for one-off drop-in classes (packages also available).

Wings to Wings Dance Development Centre * PERMANENTLY CLOSED *
We love the idea behind “Caterpillar Crawlers” – an introductory dance and movement class aimed at 3-4 year-olds – where little ones are exposed to diverse disciplines such as Yoga, Ballet or Latin Dance. It’s all about enjoying the benefits of and joys of song, dance and movement taught through themes like ‘Nature’, ‘Emotions’ and ‘Sports’. We also love WWDDC’s emphasis on positive reinforcement and holistic teaching methodologies. And don’t worry mama, they’ve got classes for older kids and adults as well!
