Support Local Children’s Charities with Swing for the Kids

Consider yourselves notified, mamas: the 3^rd Annual Swing for the Kids charity golf tournament will be happening on Sunday, 8 March in Batam, and there’s still time to sign up before the earlybird deadline on 18 January!

Swing for the Kids raises money to benefit four orphanages in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines. The funds will support ongoing projects like the construction of dormitories, roads, playgrounds and libraries – all to improve the living and learning environment for these less fortunate little ones.

This year for the first time, Swing for the Kids will auction limited art pieces from a number of renowned Asia-based artists, including Andre Tan, Andrew Gurnett, Louise Low and Ketna Patel.

Other prime goodies on offer include a weekend getaway to the luxurious new private island, Telunas Resort, and a staycation a W Hotel Singapore. Or get a master class in cocktail making from Peter Chua, 2014’s Southeast Asia Bartender of the Year.

“Through funds donated in the last two years, we were able to build a new classroom and a dormitory, upgrade the school library as well grow a vegetable garden that goes into providing nutritious meals to the kids. These efforts truly make an impact in the lives of the children in need”, said Joel B. Santos of Precious Heritage Children’s Home in the Philippines. The event is aiming to raise $50,000 this year; won’t you be a part of it, mamas?

It’s all happening Sunday, 8 March at Palm Springs Golf & Beach Resort in Batam, Indonesia. Golfers can sign up by 18 January for just $125 and will receive greens fees, caddy services, return ferry ride, lunch, and an event-sponsored cap and shirt. Non-golfers can pay just $65 to come along for lunch and the auction, and they’ll also receive a ferry ride and guided shopping tour during the golf!
