This boutique yoga studio, on the 39th floor of OCBC Centre, is conveniently located in the heart of the CBD. Practising yoga is fab for mamas looking for a low impact activity to strengthen your muscles or to improve your body flexibility. Some do it for health reasons, some do it for relaxation as the gentle movements help breathing techniques and relieve stress at the same time.
From the fluffy Ploh towels to Aromatherapy Associates toiletries, no detail has been overlooked to ensure a luxe, comforting experience. The Yoga School specialises in small, intimate yoga classes — perfect for anyone curious about yoga and passionate about learning. Experienced teachers are here to share their knowledge and make you feel at ease, particularly if you’re a beginner. If you are already a seasoned practitioner, they will expertly guide you to deepen your yoga practice.
There are over 20 classes on offer weekly, designed for a well-balanced yoga curriculum. Sessions are a reasonable $38 apiece, with a package price of $360 for 10 sessions (valid for 3 months). Classes range from the usual hatha and vinyasa classes (branded “Align” and “Flow”) to the rarer Forrest and Kundalini Yoga classes. Meditate, Yin and Restore class at the end of a long day helps you to unwind before a good night sleep mama. There are also prenatal classes every Friday for expectant mamas!
The school plays host to internationally-respected yoga teachers every month. The upcoming event Yin Immersion Workshop (24-26 March, 31 March- 2 April) focuses on a deeper exploration of Yin Yoga during this two-weekend Immersion with UK-based Dhugal Meachem. He will teach participants to work on their flexibility, connective tissues and practical ways to de-stress.
