MapleBear Preschool takes play very seriously! With not one but TWO new locations joining their islandwide network, the preschool gives kiddos more opportunities for fun, immersive bilingual learning
Well known by parents for their focus on having fun and exploration (just check out why this parent chose it for his child!), MapleBear is all about play and making learning a fun, enjoyable experience for children. Introduced by legendary Singaporean educator Patricia Koh (the founder of Pat’s Schoolhouse with over 40 years of experience in early childhood and primary education), MapleBear has grown from three centres in 2014 to 29 centres across the island as of this year – a testament to its proven and dynamic curriculum first developed by Canadian educators to incorporate global best practices.
With an immersive bilingual learning experience, MapleBear stands out for its family-like atmosphere, where children across age groups become friends, and educators are truly generous with their time, skills and expertise. The Bilingual Immersion methodology is used in MapleBear schools to develop competence in languages – teaching children to listen, speak, read, and write in both English and Mandarin naturally by surrounding them with conversation and instruction in both languages. Students learn in both English and Mandarin right from the first day!
While discovery and creativity are of utmost importance in MapleBear schools, the carefully designed programme encourages children to develop their academic, social, emotional, motor, language, and cultural skills with key areas of learning such as:
- Literacy and Early Language Acquisition
- Physical Skills and Well-Being
- Mathematics and Logical Thinking
- Science and Technology
- Arts and Creative Activity
- Music and Movement
- Physical Skills and Well-Being
- Personal and Social Development
MapleBear’s team of caring, dedicated and highly experienced teachers ensure that learning expectations are met. They integrate subject knowledge into a variety of active techniques suitable to the developmental stages of each child. The low teacher-student ratio also enables children to get the attention needed for nurturing them in all the areas of their development. No student gets left behind!
