Is English your child’s second language? If kids don’t speak much English at home, this Summer Camp for non-native English speakers will give them the essential boost they need.

How do you support your kids in learning English as a second language if you are a non-native English speaker yourself? How do you make sure their pronunciation is spot-on, that they are learning the correct idioms and phrases and vocabulary? Enrolling your child (from as young as 4 years-old) in the British Council’s Summer Study Camp, of course!

British Council has over 70 years of experience in teaching English, making it a go-to choice for non-native speakers from various nationalities living in Singapore. Their Summer Study Camps are aimed at Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary students (aged 4 to 15) who speak English as a second language.

Summer Study Camps focus on:

  • Grammar and vocabulary
  • Oral confidence
  • Communication skills
  • Games and fun activities
  • Fun project work

Fun Projects, Great Teachers!

There’s a secret to how the British Council keeps kids engaged: Teachers are highly experienced, diverse, and qualified to engage kids with different topics every day to make lessons fun and exciting for children of all ages.

Summer Study Camp for Kindergarten Kids

If you have a preschooler, you’re in luck! There’s a NEW kindergarten camp suitable for students aged 4 to 6 who are non-readers and writers. Supporting your child in learning a new language while they are young is so important and it’s essential that kids have fun. Classes for kindergarten kids involve arts and crafts, games and competitions, songs and music. Topics range from parts of the body to dinosaurs and transport – kids will be making animal masks, playing pin the tail on the T-Rex and making musical instruments – and without realizing it – learning English along the way! Plus, the teacher to student ratio is excellent – with both a teacher and a class assistant present, there’s one adult to every six children.

Summer Study Camp for Primary and Secondary Students

The British Council’s Summer Study Camp for older kids uses a mixture of games, projects, drama and communicative activities to engage students. Teamwork is big here — students are encouraged to interact in pairs and small groups, boosting their English fluency and confidence. Older kids will learn about famous adventures (exploring problems and solutions, cause and effect and past tenses), write poetry and even design a pop group and interview each other, challenging them and boosting their fluency in English, while having a lot of fun in the process!
