CIS’ Enchanted Garden Party: 9am- 12pm, Saturday 25 February 2023

now's your chance to check out CIS’ New Kindergarten Wing!

If you would like to learn more about CIS’s approach in those fundamental kindergarten years (plus get a sneak peek at the new facilities that include an instructional bakery, a junior library, an indoor swimming pool, a junior gym, and much more) then join the team for an Enchanted Garden Party between 9am and 12 noon on Saturday 25 February at their Lakeside campus. You and your kiddos will get a chance to have lots of hands-on fun with a range of exciting educationally designed activities, all led by CIS teachers.

Let’s take a look at what to expect at the upcoming Enchanted Garden Party:

1. Get active as you work your way through Charlie the Caterpillar’s Obstacle Course.

Learn about CIS’ PE programme and how gross motor skills are developed through some engaging and fun activities. You will quickly see why CIS students are encouraged to be active as they play lots of fun games like ‘king of the hill’ and ‘hide and seek’ in the Outdoor Discovery Centre. Children can also use the tunnels as a place to withdraw for quiet reflection.

2. See math in action at Betty the Butterfly’s Mud Kitchen.

The mud kitchen is a messy and unique place that allows children to go barefoot and experience what it feels like to have mud between their toes. Discover why this is a great place for children to experiment and learn about math concepts such as pouring, measuring and capacity.

3. Learn about sustainability as you pot your very own herbs at Gertie Grasshopper’s Eco Garden.

Through this hands-on activity, children will better understand the concept of sustainability and the life cycle of plants. CIS’ eco-garden also provides students with opportunities to work with local experts and learn about the importance of food choices as they produce edible produce for themselves and the community beyond the school.
