If you’re looking for an English camp for your children, you really can’t go past the British Council Holiday Study Camp

There’s no longer a need to wait for an English camp with dates to suit you, mama, because British Council now offers their popular Holiday Study Camp all year-round! A new week-long camp begins every Monday, designed specifically for children aged 4 – 17 years. These camps suit a variety of levels, from beginners through to advanced learners, and invite children to improve their English in a fun and supportive environment. Their centre on Napier Road is just 5 minutes from Orchard Road, so you can get your errands done while you wait for your camper, or spend the time in their wi-fi enabled cafe with both air-conditioned and al fresco seating options.

The weekly camp offers a morning session, which is structured around a more academic approach, while the optional afternoon sessions are about learning through experiences; with students conducting experiments and group research projects, and participating in drama games. Each day focuses on a different topic, and the curriculum not only improves students’ English skills, but teaches them critical thinking and problem solving, while also developing their world knowledge and intellectual curiosity.

The purpose-built learning environment offers 16 wifi-enabled classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards and digital visualisers, and students will also utilise the Young Learners learning zone. Classes are capped at 18 students, to ensure enough face-to-face interaction between the students and their teacher. For younger learners, there will be both a teacher and a teaching assistant in each class.

All the English teachers at British Council are not only internationally qualified teachers, they also hold additional teaching certifications such as CELTA, PGCE and TEFL. British Council’s friendly teachers have extensive experience teaching children, and create a safe, fun and supportive environment for children to learn.
