Comfortable, safe, foldable, wireless headphones for kids from JBL Jr

While we are all for low media activities, on the occasion that we do let our little ones (2 and 1/2 and 5 years old) watch a screen (while travelling on a plane using these amazing travel apps) I was yet to find a suitable children’s headset. Stocking up on essential travel accessories (like the 1st Class Kid Travel Pillow) is high up on my list! My search for the ideal, affordable, safe, noise-cancelling headphones was ongoing until I discovered JBL had come to Singapore!

The “JBL Jr” is specifically designed for children between the ages of 3 to 10. These headphones comfortably fit a child’s head with a soft-padded adjustable headband and cushioned ear cups. Not only do they come in a range of cool colours, but the outer design is built to withstand the foreseeable wear and tear. What I love about this headphone is that it folds up easily and in a logical way so that I can flick them in my handbag or travel bag without worrying about damaging them. JBL’s Jr line comes in both a wired and wireless model. I opted for the Bluetooth wireless model (JBL JR300BT) so as to avoid unnecessary and potential conflict between my child and wire, wire and airplane seat. Perhaps this is less of an issue for older kids?

We recently travelled to Bali for the weekend where we got to test these babies and I can tell you that I am a fan! My kids were able to watch Peppa Pig without me having to fuss about them sitting still so as not to get tangled in any wires. I did not have to worry about my 5 year old cranking up the volume of his beloved Netflix shows once my head turned the other way… I asked the friendly folks at JBL how they are able to ensure this mix of safety and quality? Apparently JBL Jr is built with JBL’s Pure Bass sound and fine-tuned for lower sound pressure levels, so children can safely indulge their passion for music and entertainment. The JBL Safe Sound feature ensures volume maxes out at 85dB, keeping audio at safe levels for little ears. Additionally, the cleverly designed 3D axis rotation ear cups automatically adjust to children’s ear sizes to create a perfect seal. This, in combination with the premium and flexible ear cushions, provides a high level of Passive Noise Cancellation so kids don’t have to strain their hearing when listening to audio in noisy environments, like airplanes or busy cafés!

These headphones come with fun customisable stickers which my kids had a blast with! A convenient little tidbit is that the wireless JBL headphone offers up to 12 hours of playback time, providing seamless entertainment to last all day long. Should they run out of juice, the quick charge feature gives the headphones an hour of playback after just ten minutes of charging!

Seriously, my kids’ headphones are making me wish they came in adult sizes as well so that I can ask Santa Claus for a pair!

JBL is sharing the Christmas cheer and kindly offering our Sassy Mama readers a 15% discount with this Sassy Mama promo code: JJSMA15. This is limited to the first 100 sets, while stocks last so hurry because the offer ends on 31 December 2017!
