WOW! We went to see La Clique and we are still reeling! This world-renowned variety act show is a unique blend of circus, cabaret, singing and live music performed by 9 international artists and accompanied by a four-piece La Clique Palais Orkestra. How wonderful it was to be back at the theatre to hear live music and singing! Expect acrobatics, roller-skating tricks, sword swallowing and fire breathing (SWIPE to see!). It's beautiful in parts (an aerial dance by circus artist Elke took our breath away!), raunchy, shocking, a teeny bit crude, filled with amazing nail-biting feats and an all-round mesmerizing spectacle from start to finish - 90 minutes with no interval and the time will fly thanks to the talent of the cast! What's your favourite park in the world? Mine is t

What's your favourite park in the world? Mine is the Singapore Botanic Gardens (with Regents Park in London and Kirstenbosch in Cape Town tied second place in my heart). The Botanics has stunning landscaping, pockets of fun (sword-wielding grannies doing martial arts and that Uncle doing dance classes top the list) plus cafés dotted all around. I walked my small babies around this park hoping they'd sleep a bit, met friends for pram jogs, then later took my kids to the various kids' features - how many afternoons spent at that water play at Jacob Ballas (now sadly closed) or the treehouse with slides? Now my two are older they love sketching at the park, bird watching (first pic was taken pre-covid), taking our dog here for walks and clambering over the giant jackfruit at the newish COMO Adventure Grove playground. In short, we all love this park. What's your Botanics story or your fave park?⁠ Beate x ⁠

Heard about the mama who gave birth in a TADA ride this week? This is her! We got to chat with her husband Annur about how the whole experience went: "When we had the first 2 kids, we went to the hospital immediately when my wife's water bag broke. And both times, we had to spend over 24 hours in the hospital. I pitied Mardhiah so much because her back hurt a lot from the pain and epidural... So this time round I didn't want us to 'kelam kabut' (rush). I told my wife, "Sayang, this time round let's not panic when your water bag bursts. We should go slow and steady." But when it really happened at 5:30am on Sunday morning, my wife was very panicked – the first thing she said was, "Dear, I can really feel the baby coming out." But I kept my cool and booked a TADA ride to the hospital. While we were on the expressway, she really felt the urge to push... I couldn’t believe it – I thought this kind of thing only happens in movies and dramas but never to us!"⁠
