Christmas Fair at Raffles Town Club by Expat Fairs

Shop ‘til you drop this season at Expat Fairs… it’s the one place you can get all your holiday shopping done in one go, mama! Now that’s efficient! While you’re at it, don’t forget to nosh on some gourmet food, wine and cheese (every shopping experience should be like this, amirite?) and enter the lucky draw – there’s more than $4,500 worth of prizes to be won! Plus: Meet Santa (each day from 2:30-4:30pm), let kiddos burn off energy at the Australian International School’s kiddy corner, and enjoy a wonderful children’s performance from All That Jazz Dance Academy!

Events in Singapore: Bootcamp for Books

Bootcamp for Books

Sweat your way through various bootcamps this weekend… all for a good cause! Sign up for one or more workouts put on by a host of studios and trainers from across the Lion City, courtesy of GuavaPass and KITTED. The proceeds go to Blessings in a Bag’s #BeyondAwesome programme, which works to nurture and develop each student under their care. You can also drop off book vouchers and gift cards! Love to indulge? Sip on delicious cocktails, shop for specialty candles and fragrances, get your nails done, and munch on the yummiest Granola and Acai Bowls.

Events at Esplanade: Beethoven for Kids

Beethoven First Years @ Esplanade

Foster a love of classical music in your munchkin at these specially-designed interactive Concerts for Children. This time, the focus is on Beethoven. The 10am session (recommended for kids aged 2-6) gets kiddos focusing on the nature sounds in his compositions. The 12 noon session (recommended for older kids aged 6-12) encourages them to hear the emotion in his music. This is a fun way for kids to learn about one of music history’s greats!

When: Sunday, 4 December, 10am & 12 noon

Saturdays@ACM: Season of Joy Storytelling

Kiddos will thoroughly love the stories from the master storytellers of 398.2 Storytelling Festival; they’ll be transported to a world of fascinating tales and strange islands. Children will get to make their own masterpiece to take home when they join one of the sessions… that’s one way to spend a Saturday!

#HeForShe Workshop

Get your tweens and teens engaged in a discussion about gender stereotypes at this #HeForShe Workshop, run by the Singapore Committee for UN Women. Suitable for kids aged 10 and up, as well as adults, the workshop will challenge unconscious bias and preconceived ideas about gender. Following the UN Women #HeForShe movement, their activities may leave you surprised with what you do and don’t know about gender stereotypes.

Yarn bombing at National Gallery Light to Night Festival

National Gallery Light to Night Fest

In celebration of the National Gallery’s first anniversary, they have lined up a myriad of interactive installations and engaging programmes for people of all ages. Over the weekend, you and the kiddos can take part in an Interactive Doodlescape, or enjoy the Balloon Forest, Kidsfilm and Yarn Bombing. Check out the Art and Design Market and grab a bite at the Festival Food Street. See you there!

Singapore Lacrosse Spectacular

Lacrosse is known as ‘the fastest sport on two feet’ and is among the world’s most popular sports on the youth level around the world. Come see it in action, find out more about the Singapore Lacrosse Association’s youth programmes, and cheer on Singapore’s Men’s and Women’s teams (including Sassy Mama’s very own Editor!) as they take on squads from Japan, Australia, and Hong Kong! There’s a FREE kids’ skills clinic on Sunday morning (4 December) from 8.30-9am, and men’s and women’s games hourly from 9am-3pm both days.
