Since premiering on 22 November, Frozen 2 has taken the world by storm, breaking box office records and spawning a whole new round of merchandise that kids are sure to covet (check out our kids’ holiday gift guide for our top Frozen 2 picks).

While we wait to find out what this movie’s earworm version of “Let it Go” will be, we figured we’d share the insights we’ve gleaned so far from the kids we know who’ve seen the new movie (because let’s face it, you’re gonna see it one way or another). Read on for their totally honest (and sometimes hilarious) Frozen 2 reviews (mild spoilers may follow)…

Frozen 2 was more interesting than the first one because it had more travelling and more enemies. My favourite part was when the Earth Giants came from the North.”
Josh, age 7

“I found the movie Frozen 2 was quite different from the first Frozen. All of the characters were a lot more mature. Also, there was a little too much singing. It felt like a musical to me! The story was very intriguing and there were lots of ups and downs in the story. In conclusion, this movie was really great, but there were a few downs to it. I think any young girl would enjoy it though, because it is a really cool story. It was an awesome movie, and I think whoever contributed to the movie should be proud of themselves. Good Job!”
Josephine, age 10

It was amazing! My favourite part is where Elsa wears the white dress. I also love the horse, the Nokk. You know Anna is the queen now? But actually Elsa is still the queen.”
Matthew, age 4 (an Elsa superfan – he went as her for Halloween!)

“I thought Frozen 2 was EPIC because sounds popped in Elsa’s head. It was also SUPER SPOOKY!!!!!!!!!”
Adrian, age 7

“It was sad & happy at the same time. My favourite part was when Elsa jumped into the dark sea because she was so brave. I felt sad when she saw her mother’s ship crash because she wanted to find answers to the past. The movie taught me to be brave & stick together to friends and family like super glue so that they can be with you no matter what happens!”
Surina, age 9

“I like Frozen 2 better than Frozen 1 and I find Olaf very funny.”
-Maria, age 6

“I thought it was awesome, but probably not AS epic as the first one. The songs were deeper, which I liked, but not as catchy or memorable. The fire lizard was a little strange and random. It was like they were trying to throw a Pokemon into a Frozen movie. You can’t just do that! And why would a horse be the water animal? But whatever. I recommend it to everyone. It’s a great movie.”
-Max, age 10

“I love Elsa’s new song, and also Anna’s and Kristoff’s song. But Olaf’s song is my favorite. He sings very funny.”
Nora, age 4

“All the Olaf parts were SO funny!”
[What did he do that was so funny?]
“I don’t remember. But they were really funny.”
-Maggie, age 5
