A new healthy café and deli at Loewen Gardens near Dempsey literally just opened, and it’s a hit with the mama crowd!
Taking up the space of the defunct Pantry, Carrotsticks & Cravings is the café we have all been wishing for. One that serves up almond milk flat whites without batting their eyelids. Turmeric latte? No problem. Their (mostly) healthy, refined sugar free dishes are a hit from Smashed Avo, Feta and Dukkah on sourdough toast ($16) to Acai Bowls ($14) and the highly Instagrammable Ricotta and Fig on Sourdough with Chai Granola ($17).
For drinks, freshly squeezed juices, some with added probiotics – like seriously these people are hot on health! They aren’t fun-killers, so there’s also Peanut Butter Smoothies ($8), Gluten Free Cakes and fresh fruit ice pops for kiddos after their ballet classes nearby.
They have Wifi too if you want to sip Almond Milk Lattes while you tap on your computer and for the kids – we are hearting their specially designed kids menu – no nuggets here, mama! Instead there’s Toast with Smashed Avo and feta ($10) and a Kids Salad ($10) or Ham, Cheese and Tomato Melts ($10). You’ll need to bring CASH though mama as they aren’t accepting credit cards yet. There’s space in the courtyard for some scooting or kids can burn off energy jumping on the trampolines.
