Unpackt: Packaging-free Shopping

Co-founders Florence Tay and Mr Jeff Lam came up with the idea of opening grocery store Unpackt which opened may 2018 to offer consumers a packaging-free shopping experience and also the possibility to buy products in non-standard quantities. The concept is simple, bring your containers, weigh them, fill them with products dispensed from self-serve bins and pay. Unpackt sells kitchen staples like olive oil, sesame oil, vinegar, soy sauce, salt and spices, liquid cleaning detergents, dry foods like pastas, nuts, oats, quinoa, necessities like cold pressed soaps, reusable washclothes, menstrual cups etc though no fresh produce yet (but watch this space!).
