Keen to watch the real-life fairytale that is the royal wedding, mama? Here are all the deets!
We’re on a royal countdown as England’s most eligible bachelor, Prince Harry, is getting set to wed American TV star Meghan Markle this Saturday.
Click through our gallery to get all the deets, from the Hollywood starlet’s hotly anticipated gown to where you can watch on TV here in Singers. Whether you want to get gussied up to watch at a fancy viewing party, or prefer the comfort of your own sofa, we’ll have you sorted!
The wedding will be happening Saturday, 19 May at 7pm Singapore local time. Coverage in many places will start at 6pm to watch the guests and groom arriving. Meghan is expected to leave her hotel around 6:20pm to arrive at the chapel on time!
The wedding will be held at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. Built in the 14th century, this chapel has hosted many royal weddings in the past, and who wouldn’t want to choose this stunning façade as a backdrop to their nuptials?
While the wedding dress remains a closely-guarded secret, Meghan Markle’s wedding dress is arguably the biggest fashion commission of the year, so look out for that first glimpse around 6.20pm. And of course not every woman wears a crown on her big day. But royal tradition suggests that she will borrow a sparkling diamond tiara from the Queen. The question, then: which tiara will she choose to top off her wedding look?
Unfortunately The British Club watching party has already sold out, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a “right Royal Knees Up” — why not throw your own T-shirt & Tiara viewing party at home? You can take things up a notch further with your own limited edition Harry and Meghan commemorative coin issued by the Singapore Mint for the bargain price of just S$30, or order yourself a special limited edition “Royal Wedding” Mash-Up Burger via Deliveroo!
Prince Harry’s brother, William, had his wedding televised to an audience of over two billion viewers worldwide. This time around, viewership numbers are expected to be even higher given that a large number of Americans will be eager enough to see one of their own become a princess.
If you’ve got Starhub, you’re in luck! The BBC will be broadcasting wedding coverage locally live from 4pm to 9pm, both on BBC Lifestyle (channel 432) and BBC World News (channel 701). If you’re simply gagging for royal wedding coverage, BBC Lifestyle will also be premiering Harry and Meghan: A Modern Love Story on Saturday 12 May at 8:45pm.

The one-hour special will feature “exclusive” commentary from the designer of Princess Diana’s wedding dress and Randy Fenoli from Say Yes to the Dress, among others.
