In 2013 we published The Gluten Free Guide to Singapore, and it was brief. From those humble and somewhat limited beginnings the gluten free scene in Singapore has since exploded!

Having a son with a life threatening nut allergy I know how hard it can be to cater to a family that has food related allergies or intolerances. It is fantastic that mamas out there having to manage coeliacs and gluten intolerant children now have so much variety, so much choice! So where do you go for the best in gluten free dining experiences, groceries and information? Read on, Mamas…

Dining Out
Both new and well established restaurants in Singapore are now offering a variety of gluten-free choices on their menus, from fabulous bakeries-cum-cafes like Baker and Cook to restaurants like Jamie’s Italian and The Cherry Garden at the Mandarin Oriental.

Be sure to double check with the individual restaurant regarding their gluten-free preparation policies to ensure prevention of cross-contamination, and if you don’t see a gluten-free option, ask away! Many places in Singapore will be happy to accommodate if they can.
