There’s so much to do with the kids this CNY, from fireworks to pet parades!

We’re kicking off the Year of The Dog, mama! Celebrate as the streets come alive with the yearly Chinatown light-up, fun CNY-themed workshops and classes, lots of shopping and more. Have a pawsperous CNY, and don’t forget to greet others with a hearty gong xi fa cai, mamas!

Gong SEA Fa Cai at S.E.A. Aquarium
S.E.A. Aquarium is definitely one of the go-to spots for some seasonal holiday fun, and this time is no different – Gong SEA Fa Cai will have your littlies learning about auspicious marine life, the 12 zodiac animals and more while they discover the aquarium! One of the highlights will be the Underwater Dragon Dance, where divers in festive costumes will perform the traditional dragon dance alongside the aquarium’s 40,000 marine residents. And this time there will be a CNY theme to their Ocean Dreams sleepover (yes, a sleepover at the aquarium!), a one-night sleepaway camp with the Sea Goddess and God of Fortune while they make new friends with other campers.

Chinatown Festivals
Chinatown is the place to be for all the Lunar New Year happenings!

Chinatown Street Light Up
The official light up and opening ceremony will be followed by 7 weeks of illumination along the streets of Chinatown. The light-up features handmade sculptured lanterns of flowers, greetings and the towering pack of dogs that are hard to miss!

Festive Street Bazaar
All your favourite festive goodies, decorations and costumes in one place! Cookies, decorative items, waxed duck and preserved fruits, potted plants and clothing for you to welcome the new year.

Chinatown Chinese New Year Countdown Party
Want to be surrounded by festive cheer on CNY Eve? Usher in the Year of the Dog with live performances and a rousing countdown celebration with MediaCorp artistes in the heart of Chinatown. There’ll be lively performances including medley of festive songs, skits, and interactive games as the countdown party culminates with firecrackers and a spectacular fireworks display!

Chinatown Wishing Trees
Make your New Year wishes come true at the Chinatown Wishing Tree! You’ll also be giving to charity to help the needy elderly. Write wishes for yourself and your loved ones on the “Make a Wish” card and hang them on the banyan tree. Through this meaningful community event, you can bring festive cheer to the less fortunate by reaching out with a helping hand.

Nightly Stage Shows
Experience Chinese culture come to life and take a break from your festive shopping! Be entertained by lively and vibrant Chinese cultural performances, festive songs, music and dance performances by local entertainers and troupes from China.

Chingay Parade @ Heartlands
The largest street performance and float parade in Asia, the annual Chingay Parade, will make an appearance in Chinatown this year to bring the celebrations to a great height while also marking the end of the Chinese New Year Celebrations. Join with your family and friends for a vibrant night that includes special performances by local and overseas performers, not to mention more than 10 beautifully decorated and illuminated floats!

A day of play and eats sorted for you and the kids await! Straits Family Sunday at Peranakan Museum
Want to ring in the Lunar New Year nonya style? Learn about Peranakan traditional clothing first and get inspired in the Peranakan Museum galleries through an interactive drama performance, TAHUN BARU, BAJU BARU! (New Year, New Clothes!). Afterwards, get creative and design New Year clothes for the whole family at the craft station in the museum.

Hook On Books Local Children's Chinese Bookstore

Get crafty at Hook On Books Local Children’s Chinese Bookstore
Let your kiddo put their Mandarin skills to practice at these workshops by Hook on Books! Hosted entirely in Mandarin, children will be guided through craft activities – Paper Cutting x Springtime Greetings and Engraved with Love x Bountiful Blessings – over two weekends in February to prep for the CNY festivities.

Visit the Istana
Take a peak into what the President and her guards see every day! Entry to the grounds is free for Singapore Citizens and PRs, while entrance into the Istana Main Building cost just $2. There will be a variety of performances on the grounds during the Open House, and visitors are encouraged to embark on guided tours.
