Has your helper had a PAP test to detect cervical cancer? Here’s how to get your helper one for free with Osler Health’s Giving Back programme

Also known as a “silent killer’, cervical cancer often produces no signs or symptoms in its early stages. It is the second most common cancer in women, and is one of the most frequently diagnosed cancers in women between age 35 and 44. This is why regular PAP tests are a must.

The numbers have been on the decline across countries across Europe and in the United States, but it remains high in lesser developed countries. The reason is simple: women from less developed countries typically have limited information about regular PAP tests and, more importantly, less financial access to regular testing. Odds are, your helper falls into this category, and while she receives a mandatory health check-up every six months, PAP tests are not included and aren’t a requirement.

Osler Health - Giving Back Programme

Compassion Comes First

So how can you help her to prioritise her health? For starters, you can bring your helper to Osler Health’s Giving Back clinic. At Osler Health, health and kindness come before profit, a belief that has inspired its Giving Back programme. Their upcoming Giving Back clinic is part of this programme, and provides free PAP tests to the helpers of the clinic’s existing patients. In true pro bono spirit, Osler Health absorbs all costs that arise from the doctors’ and the clinic’s time plus all lab costs, too – this means you and your helper won’t have to pay for anything. The Giving Back clinic is exclusively for helpers of registered Osler Health patients, and will take place on:
