Need a fun party idea stat, mama? Whether it’s for your kiddo’s birthday, or you’re looking for a fresh way to celebrate with your gal pals, give Lush a call!

Yup, the all-natural (and all-vegetarian with some vegan products) UK-born brand Lush Cosmetics does parties, with three types to choose from: Beauty School, Fun & Games or Happy Hour. There’s even a Custom Made option if you’ve got something more specific in mind, or can’t decide how to organise it! The Sassy Mama team had the pleasure of spending our morning at the Lush Orchard Gateway outlet getting pampered at our very own “Beauty School” party and it’s safe to say, we left the store looking and smelling amazing!

After tying each of our beautifully printed Knot Wraps, we dived right in to our little pamper party. The Beauty School party ($50/guest) focuses on either facial skincare, or hand and foot treatments, and every party goer will get an in-depth consultation with a friendly Lush staff member on their skin types, product preferences and lifestyles. We were lucky enough to enjoy a facial and a luxurious hand treatment each, on top of learning useful skincare techniques to try at home!

The signature Lush smell has never escaped any of us (we dare you to try walking by any of their stores without noticing that incredible blend of natural scents…), but a few mamas from the team admitted that it was our first time there. Ekta, our party host for the day, introduced us to some of the line’s unique products, including the hypnotising gold Sunnyside bath bomb, innovative solid shampoo bars (so good for traveling!), and almost-good-enough-to-eat body butters and massage bars.

Let the pampering begin! We started with facials based on the thorough consultations, from makeup removal to being treated to a fresh face mask, then a relaxing facial massage using the moisturising and antioxidant-rich Full of Grace serum bar and finally, our choice of (completely edible!) lip scrubButtery popcorn? YES, please!

Of course, we weren’t about to leave the store barefaced! We each got a makeover using the Emotional Brilliance range, which comprises of skin tints, vibrant lippies, eyeliners and cream eyeshadows. Personally I think the lipsticks and eye products are great, but the Skin Tints and Color Supplements wouldn’t suit those of us with oily skin or in-between skin tones (it took a while to find and mix my exact foundation shade).

We left the Lush store with a bag of awesome goodies, including the serum bars that were used on us, and a great gift set that included a shower gel and bath bomb (score!). Plus, ask any of the Lush staff for samples of any of the products and they’ll be happy to help you try before you buy.

This visit may have turned us all into budding Lushies mama, because we can’t get over how great everything smells. Plus, the fact that every single handmade product is made with the freshest ingredients and left naked or packaged in 100% recycled plastic scores on the eco-friendly factor in our books. They even have a recycling programme which encourages customers to take back their empty containers in exchange for a fresh face mask!

If you’re already thinking of planning a party with Lush, try the best selling Fun & Games party ($49/guest) for your kiddos, where they can compete against their friends in a series of fun, energetic activities using and playing with fun Lush products. For larger groups, consider the Happy Hour party ($49/guest) for a private, unique, behind-the-scenes shopping experience with interactive product demos and personalised activities. If you’d rather hold the party at your own preferred venue, you’ll be happy to know that they also make house calls! All parties are required to have a minimum number of six guests.

Lush parties know no rules, mama – no matter what you want, their expert party hosts are able to work it out for you. Simply drop by your nearest Lush shop or email [email protected] for enquiries!
