Get ready to introduce your child to a world of discovery through play-based learning at the new Little GEMS Nursery

As part of a leading global education group with 60+ years’ experience in K-12 education, GEMS (Singapore) has quickly made a name for itself as a truly international school in every sense. More than 60 nationalities make up its student population, and it’s the first and only international school in Singapore to offer all four IB programmes (Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, IB Diploma Programme, and the Career-related Programme).

The school has drawn rave reviews for its state-of-the-art facilities, low student-teacher ratio, and globally experienced and passionate teaching faculty. And it’s a hit with parents and students alike thanks to its caring, child-focused environment.

In response to growing interest from the expat community, GEMS (Singapore) has opened Little GEMS Nursery Programme, enrolling students from the age of two. Offering caring, play-based education with a Reggio Emilia-inspired learning space, Little GEMS Nursery aims to form the school’s youngest students into inquisitive, social and active learners.

Students are provided with their very own special entrance and educational area to enable exploration, creativity, social engagement and self-expression. Families can also enjoy the flexibility of choosing between a half-day or full-day programme that caters to their little one’s needs.

Nursery class sizes are capped at 14 children, allowing teachers to dedicate more time to every child and provide topnotch instruction tailored to the child’s individual needs. And in order to create a safe and secure environment, Little GEMS students are facilitated by a full-time teacher and a teaching partner in every class.

Children will have the exciting opportunity to interact with their peers, share, and cooperate. They’ll also develop gross motor skills and spatial awareness through games, physical education, dance and drama activities. They’ll hone fine motor skills through painting and various other art activities, and will get to enjoy all manner of sensory experiences with sand play, water play, play-dough and more. In total, this child-centered approach will help little ones learn to explore, all while boosting cognitive development and helping them acquire and apply new understandings of the world around them.

Building a collaborative and strong partnership between the school and parents is of paramount importance at GEMS (Singapore), where teachers assist parents in understanding and supporting their child’s learning journey, and provide regular feedback on each child’s progress. Parents also have access to the school’s secure digital platform, where they can find daily updates, along with videos and photos of their child’s nursery experience, and also have the ability to communicate directly with teachers.
