I sent my child to the soccer and multisport programs run by tinytots.com.sg … they were amazing! Perfect if you’re looking for a good oudoors program for your child

I signed my 3yo up to Camp Asia June 2016 at Stamford America. I do not know the qualifications of the teacher(s) and most of them looked pretty young to me. All I know was that a young (girl) teacher asked a group of 3 year olds (all of them had a backpack on stuffed full of change of clothes, towels, diapers etc) to walk down a set of stairs (approx. 10-15 steps in total) holding onto a walking rope circular in shape. The teacher walking in front of the class was completely oblivious that the kids are about to fall and tumble down the stairs as the kids in front are pulling the kids at the back down cos the kids are all walking at different speed. She did not even turn around once to check on the kids. I quickly pulled my son away from the walking rope and asked him to hold onto the rails instead. And I quickly grabbed as many kids as I can to steady them. The next day, I complained to another teacher. The teacher said she actually witness this incident and had a chat with that young teacher, telling her not to do that in the future as that was dangerous. I was perplexed. Why is it that the teacher needed to be told that she shouldn’t be doing that. Isn’t it common sense? Even if common sense doesn’t kick in, I am quite sure a basic child safety course would cover that? The funny thing is that the lift is just right beside the set of stairs and the teacher chose not to use it!! I have previously suggested the teachers to use the lift instead of the stairs and my suggestion was ignored. And after this incident, the teacher still continued to use the stairs. As there were only 2 days left to the camp, I sent a guardian in to supervise as much as she can. I do not recommend Camp Asia for young children. I do not believe the teachers are mature and experienced enough to look after these young children. I have written a letter to management. However, a typical political response was received which was of no use at all. I am certain not all teachers of Camp Asia are like this. However, to me there seems to be a lot of young teenager-looking ‘teachers’ around. Fun maybe but on the expense of your child’s safety. Are you willing to risk that?
