SMART English is a comprehensive course that helps students (aged 15 years old and above) advance their English speaking skills and communicate with confidence. It prepares you for work, career advancement or future studies. Besides the flexibility to learn at your own pace, SMART English will boost your confidence whilst you learn to communicate effectively in English with both teachers and classmates.
Learning English goes beyond the classroom through the further learning programme, free additional workshops for students and invitations to special events organised through British Council’s own arts and educational outreach work in Singapore, mama. You will practise what you learn outside the classroom and cement your English skills through various collaborations and teamwork with classmates hailing from countries all around the world.
For students aged 11-14 years old, give their English skills a boost with the SMART English Junior programme, mama. It’s an intensive general and academic English course which focuses on listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation to prepare for school life in Singapore, whether the school be international or local. It engages and supports students to be fluent in the language so that students can achieve in their school subjects. Qualified and experienced English teachers will guide them in their school studies and assist them in task-based projects like presentations, online research and exam skill strategies. This three-level programme, which takes about nine months to complete, evaluates the students’ progress through its in-house Aptis assessment tests.
