CIS Steam workshop

STEAM at CIS:

What’s the big deal about STEAM? STEAM at CIS stands for Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Arts, and Math. STEAM plays an integral part of the school curriculum and is disintegrated across the school from pre-kindergarten to secondary. The STEAM teaching approach encourages students to think about the connections between the five disciplines through creative thinking and problem-solving. It is student-led and hands-on and focuses on activities where students have the opportunity to solve real-life, authentic problems.

From Grade 1 onwards, students are exposed to STEAM experiences in stimulating makerspace rooms. These are part lab, part shop, part conference room, designed to foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration and design thinking. Students build and work on projects together using equipment that is both traditional (such as woodworking machinery and sewing machines) and cutting edge (such as makerbot 3D printers, GCC laser engravers and cutting machines).

Get a taste of the fun CIS students experience every day, by signing up for one of CIS’ FREE virtual STEAM workshops! It’s guaranteed to be a great hands-on morning for the whole family.
