Celebrity mama Kewei Tay may have one of the best jobs in the world. She takes us through her daily routine.
Singaporean mama Kewei Tay is a talented singer-songwriter, actress, social media influencer (check out her gorgeous Insta!), and the newly appointed Chief Luxury Officer of Luxury Escapes, a fast growing global travel brand. What does it mean to be “Chief Luxury Officer,” exactly? Oh, just that she gets to take three holidays this year to stunning locations (her latest destination: Turkey!), staying at luxurious hotels and dining on five-star meals while sharing her escapades on social media.
Along the way, she also provides honest feedback on each hotel or resort’s facilities, and the overall Luxury Escapes experience. Color us green with envy! But it’s not all easy; Kewei is also the mama to her 18-month old son, Momo, and one of the toughest parts of her job is taking long trips away from him.
“I think that I have one of the best jobs in the world as it takes me to some of the most beautiful places across the world with Luxury Escapes,” she tells us. “However, it does take a lot of effort to balance my travels, my work commitments and finding time to spend with Momo.”
Read on for a day in Kewei’s fast-paced life, from an early-morning wakeup at her home in Bedok to lots of adorable cuddles along the way!
My day starts rather early because my son Momo is usually up and about by 6:30am. He’s an active little boy who will always wake me up to play.
When we have plans to head out, I like to have Momo try on different clothes and let him choose what he wants to wear for the day. He also loves to pose for photos when he is trying out the different outfits.
Momo loves spending time at the beach, so we usually head out for some sun and sand in the morning when I don’t have to work. We can spend the entire morning just building sand castles.
I tend to schedule my work meetings after an early lunch. For example, I’d meet the Luxury Escapes team to discuss my upcoming travel plans to Turkey. During the planning session, l get to share what I’d like to do on the trip and also get a preview of what to expect.
When I have some free time in between meetings, I tend to work on my phone to maximise my day. As the Chief Luxury Officer, I keep myself updated on the latest luxury properties and tours available by checking Instagram and reading lifestyle and travel magazines on-the-go.
I usually head to the studio for recording in the afternoon. Sometimes when inspiration strikes, I also tend to write my songs at the studio.
I usually try to be home by 6pm to have dinner with my family. Today, my husband prepared some Bak Kut Teh, a kind of Chinese pork soup dish that we both love.
Momo likes to eat with his hands, and he always ends up having food all over himself… and the table.
After putting Momo to sleep, it’s alone time with my husband. We share our stories from the day and also catch up on our favourite shows online before calling it a night.
