Lights by the Lake is back at Jurong Lake Gardens from 19 to 4 October 2026! This Mid-Autumn Festival event is known for its huge and vibrant lanterns that take over the massive gardens. Expect light shows, cultural performances and more! Look forward to performances and activities from 19 to 27 September, while stunning lantern displays will be up from 19 September to 4 October 2026. Giant lantern displays at Jurong Lake Gardens

This year, Lights by the Lake’s larger-than-life lantern displays will be themed around The Legend of the White Snake Bai Suzhen, a thousand-year-old white snake spirit who has cultivated herself into a beautiful woman. Over at Cleansing Biotope (Chinese Garden), lantern displays will be inspired by the legend of Chang’e, while lantern displays at the Floral Garden (Japanese Garden) will portray the Japanese folklore of Princess Kaguya. Light shows at Lights by the Lake 2026

Yes, there are light shows at Lights by the Lake! This year, the light show will take place at two locations. Head over to the Cloud Pagoda at Chinese Garden for the show that takes place every 30 minutes from 7.30pm onwards.

Live performances & cultural showcases

Lights by the Lake 2026 also brings about some fab live performances and cultural showcases to celebrate the season! This year, expect lantern displays, cultural showcases and music performances, including the crowd-favourite Rockestra®, lantern riddles and more.
At Chinese Garden, a full string of performances will take place on selected dates, including Lion Dances, the Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival by Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, where you can take part in Lantern Making, Hanfu Dress-up & Photo Experience, storytelling sessions, performances by Singapore Chinese Orchestra, heritage game stations and more. At Japanese Garden, the Celestial Nights: Mid-Autumn Edition by Science Centre Singapore will take place, including the Moonstruck 2026 – Watermarks of the Moon exhibition. Food Market at Lights by the Lake 2026

There will a food street at Lakeside Field featuring your favourite street food such as pasta, kebabs, sweet potato balls and more. Families can head straight for the carnival games and bouncy castles or shop for Mid-Autumn essentials at the retail booths. More information here.

Music performances & film screenings at Lights by the Lake 2026

Ficus Lawn Stage at Chinese Garden is always the highlight for Lights by the Lake. The crowd-favourite Rockestra® will be bringing the best of Mandopop and English hits through the decades, brought to you by local artistes! On 26 September, look out for a special performance by Singapore Chinese Orchestra. There will also be film screenings on selected dates of local shows and more.
