Thanks to over 100 Sassy Mamas and kids, Jones the Grocer has just put out a new kids’ menu filled with healthy and delicious options for little foodies
A few months ago we put out a call to our readers (and their kiddos!) to help Sassy Mama fave Jones the Grocer design a new kids’ menu. Over the course of three days, more than 100 mamas and kids tried out all manner of breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
There were some surprises (to our great shock kiddos didn’t really go for Avocado Toast) and some no-brainers (everybody loves JTG’s famous Coconut Flour Pancakes, with lots of raves like “fluffy and light” and “not too sweet!”).
Mamas were pleased to see healthy menu options like Roasted Barramundi (“The best! My son is not a big fish lover but won’t stop eating it!”) and Baked Chicken Fingers (“Flavourful and tasty!”) along with non-French-Fries sides like steamed veggies.
Meanwhile, the junior diners went crazy for kid classics like Bolognaise pasta with wagyu (“Bursting with flavour! Second only to my mother’s homemade version!”) and actually rated the Yogurt Parfait with fresh fruit, granola, berry compote, and brownie crumble as one of their faves (we’re sure the brownie bits had nothing to do with that…).
We really appreciated the in-depth, thoughtful feedback across the board, whether it was mamas pointing out that penne was easier for little diners to eat than spaghetti, or kiddos making it clear that they don’t like herb garnishes, maple syrup, or spices on top of their food.
