Black truffle deliciousness at Ginett

Ginett– Affordable Black Truffle Menu

Truffle fans, this one is for you! One of our fave spots for affordable wine and charcuterie boards to get Instacrazy over has a new specially curated seasonal black truffle menu on at the moment! Expect only the freshest black truffles harvested from Australian farms. The menu comprises four dishes including Artichoke Jerusalem Velouté served with Black Truffle Espuma, Roasted Bresse Chicken served with Black Truffle Butter, and Ratte Potatoes where generous portions of black truffles are finely grated and folded into a smooth and creamy butter … delicious! The seasonal showcase menu runs from now until 30 September, subject to availability, at prices from $19++.

Bar Bar Black Sheep @ Kent Ridge — Cheapest outlet yet

Bar Bar Black Sheep – known for its three independent kitchens (North Indian, Thai and Western) – opens a branch at Kent Ridge campus. Look out for their most affordable pricing to date on butter chicken and other Indian dishes, Thai street food, and pastas/tapas/burgers to go with your beer or wine. Their popular live band “The Acoustic People” plays from Tuesdays to Sundays.

Greenwood Fish Market & Bistro is now in Dempsey! Find them where House@Dempsey used to be overlooking the lush green jungle of Dempsey. This huge branch is a multi-concept space with a wholesale seafood market, lounge, seafood restaurant and even a floral market. We hear their seafood platters (from $108) are the thing to order. There’s a kids’ menu, too, with fish and chips at $11 and a huge menu of seafood from pastas to salads to whole steamed fish in western and Chinese styles.

Butcher Boy — New Sunday Brunch

Butcher Boy, the Asian-inspired grill, restaurant and bar is bringing back its celebrated Butcher’s Brunch every Sunday from 12pm to 4pm. Think roasts like Roast Beef, Roast Lamb Rump or Roast Pork Belly for $35++. Alternatively, opt for its Signature Roast Chicken, stuffed with chestnut herb brioche and chicken gravy, which comes at $60++ for two to share. These set options arrive with a choice of sides, ranging from roast potatoes, Szechuan brussel sprouts, Yorkshire pudding to the umami carrot miso mash. For dessert? Soft serve Sundae!

Publico –  Long Italian Weekends

Publico kicks the weekend off early come Friday lunchtime! What’s on offer? Italian cuisine and refreshing cocktails on the stylish riverside terrazza from 1-4pm every Friday and Saturday, with the Publico Ristorante free-flow beverage package priced at $75++ per person, which features spritz cocktails, such as the classic Aperol Spritz, in addition to a selection of easy-drinking wines and beer. On the lunch menu: Publico’s famous pizzas and lighter lunchtime dishes. For a limited time only, diners can also opt for either a two or three-course set menu; priced at $30 and $35 respectively.

The Loco Group — New Mexican-inspired craft beers

Our fave Mexican, The Loco Group is releasing a range of bespoke Mexican-inspired craft beers made by local Trouble Brewing brewery this September at Super Loco Customs House, Super Loco Robertson Quay and Lucha Loco – and we want YOU to be among the first to try them before everyone else! The Tulum Verano is a “crisp, refreshing summer ale dreamt up while basking under the Mexican sun”, or there’s the Nuevo Gringo, Pesado and Mayan Dark — all $13. Sounds like just the thing to knock back after a few tacos and elotes!

Chang Sensory Trails Thai Food Festival— Free Thai Food

Chang Sensory Trails, the annual Thai food festival organised by  Thailand’s leading beer brand, Chang, returns to Singapore for its third edition with a special emphasis on Thai home recipes. Taking place from 31 August to 1 September 2018 at The Lawn at Marina Bay, the Thai food Festival celebrates the diversity of Thai cuisine. This year’s edition of the Chang Sensory Trails features 24 signature dishes by eight Singapore based Thai restaurants: Aroy Dee, Baan Ying, Bangkok Jam, Gin Khao, Little Elephant, Long Chim, Tamarind Hill and Un-Yang-Kor-Dai. Local bands, O.K Ready! and 53A will also be performing on 31 August and 1 September respectively.

Matter of Taste — Wine Tasting & Masterclasses 

Robert Parker Wine Advocate is bringing back its much-lauded Matter of Taste wine event on 25th August at Regent Hotel, Singapore. The fifth edition will feature more than 300 prestigious and discovery wines rated 90 Robert Parker points and above from around the world, including exceptional wines rated 100 Robert Parker points, during the five hours of unlimited wine tasting from 12pm till 5pm. In addition to the walkabout tasting, Matter of Taste Singapore will also play host to six exclusive Wine Tasting Masterclasses on 25th August and three exclusive Wine Dinners, offering guests the opportunity to explore and expand their knowledge of more varieties, styles and wine regions.
