𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪: 𝟯𝗗𝟮𝗡 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗣 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗨 𝗖𝗢𝗔𝗦𝗧, 𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗦𝗜𝗔⁠
Looking for a quick weekend getaway? We took a 3D2N trip to Desaru Coast, Malaysia and had a blast! It’s only a short 90-minute ferry ride from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal! Whether you’re looking to unwind at the beach while the kids build sandcastles or want to explore nature in Desaru with a guided tour, there’s something for everyone of all ages. We travelled with my parents who are in their 60s and two kids aged 5.5 and almost 3, and we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which is only a short 3-minute buggy ride away from the beach and has the water park at its doorstep.⁠

Here are the highlights of our trip: ⁠

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘂 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁⁠
We loved this hotel because it’s kid-friendly with free kids’ activities, a fabulous kids’ club (RM35 for the first hour) and direct access to the famous Adventure Waterpark! We also loved their swimming pool with a pool-side restaurant. Plus, there’s a well-equipped fitness centre and a relaxing spa.⁠

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸 & 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘂 𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿⁠
It’s tough to choose our favourite activity...but everyone loved the Adventure Waterpark which has a kid-friendly section AND huge water slides for the young-at-heart. The Desaru Fruit Farm Tour was also a unique experience where we toured a massive fruit farm and tried deliciously sweet fruit and enjoyed a feast for lunch in true farm-to-table fashion! ⁠

Have you been to Hua Hin? We recently visited the beachside destination in Thailand, just a few hours from Bangkok, and checked out the @sosofitelhuahin

Here’s what you can expect:
- With easy access to the beach, the resort is packed with family activities from a dedicated kids’ club to an inflatable obstacle course and a mini golf adventure trail.
- Enjoy various cuisines from their 3 onsite restaurants and take advantage of their SO Spa for a relaxing (well deserved!) treatment.

*Just be mindful, the journey to the resort can be quite long, if you’re lucky it can take you 2.5 hours but with Bangkok traffic, it’s more likely between 3-4 hours.

🌺 Developed by Layers of Reality and Frida Kahlo Corporation, Frida Kahlo: The Life of an Icon is an immersive biographical exhibition that is making its Southeast Asian premiere. It brings together a unique blend of historical photographs, original films, digital art, interactive installations and 360-degree projections that re-create significant moments of her life across eight dynamic spaces, allowing visitors to experience her visionary world.⁠

💀 Plus enter Frida’s paintings through an extraordinary virtual reality experience titled Exquisite Corpse (for 11-year-olds + up and adults only). Following a serious accident, Frida’s life was marked by periods of convalescence, confined to her bed. These periods in her life form the backdrop for this VR showcase that will be presented in ArtScience Museum’s VR Gallery for Frida Forever.⁠
