Play Tower at Coastal PlayGrove: Tube slides & climbing nets
Vertical & climbing nets

Age: For 13-year-olds
This huge feature at Coastal PlayGrove comprises a vertical net play climbing area, featuring a 4-storey vertical net play area called the Vertical Challenge, plus long metallic tube slides on the third and fourth floor. Designed in the same vibrant colours red, orange, yellow, green, and blue of the previous water slides at Big Splash East Coast Park, the Vertical Challenge at Coastal PlayGrove offers exciting play activities including stepping pods, hammocks, a hoop maze, a zig-zag bridge, grip wall and disc swings. The views at the top of Coastal PlayGrove’s Play Tower are stunning!
NB: The Play Tower at Coastal PlayGrove is only for older kids 13yrs +.
Long metallic tube slides at Coastal PlayGrove

Age: For 13-year-olds
The two metal tube slides accessible from the third and fourth floor of the Play Tower at Coastal PlayGrove are definitely eye-catching! The first slide is 7.3 metres tall but the second slide is a whopping 11.9 m tall with a little loop in it. Metal slides at playgrounds in Singapore are contentious–we know many of you think they get way too hot for kids to slide down but the designs here seem to be focusing on speed and thrills for older kids (13 yrs and above). Just dress in leggings/long pants or go before it gets too hot and sunny!
Climbing fun for younger kids

Age: For 5 to 12-year-olds
At the base of the Play Tower are the Leisure Nets, designed to resemble waves along the shore and are suitable for younger children, 5 to 12 years old to climb and explore.

Water play at Coastal PlayGrove: Wading pools & water jets

Age: For 5 to 12-year-olds.
Bring your swimmers because Coastal PlayGrove Playground has an inclusive water play area with a fun wading pool and refreshing jets of water for kids to play in. The water is too shallow for swimming (it’s about shin deep) but kids will have a great time cooling off and splashing around the fountains. According to NParks this water play at Coastal PlayGrove is for kids from 5 years old but we often see parents with little kids splashing around too–just keep an eye on them.
Come at dusk and the water fountains will be illuminated in various colours to splash around in! Bring hats if you are here during the heat of the day. A washroom is located close by for kids to change into swimmers.
NB: Do note water play at Coastal PlayGrove is closed on Mondays.

Nature Playgarden at Coastal PlayGrove

Coastal PlayGrove Playground has a small nature playgarden designed with natural wood and sand for kids aged 3 to 12. Look out for a bamboo tunnel trail, wooden teepees for some pretend-play camping, a trail created with logs, and a sand pit–perfect for little adventurers!
The Nature Playgarden at Coastal PlayGrove features several themed sections to introduce kids to different habitats–from bamboo trails to exotic shrubs that attract butterflies and native plants to mimic the forest habitats.
Kiddos, see if you can spot birds such as the Black-naped Oriole, Yellow-vented Bulbul, Olive-backed Sunbird, and insects such as the Plain Tiger Butterfly, and the solitary Blue-banded Digger Bee?
Coastal PlayGrove’s Outdoor Classroom

Coastal PlayGrove’s Outdoor Classroom is NParks’ first outdoor classroom by the sea for pre-schoolers! This area has a chalkboard with boulders and log stools, and a lovely view of the sea.
Coastal PlayGrove also features open lawns where you can bring a picnic while the kids run around. Bring a kite to fly or let the kiddos play tag–it’s a beautiful space (bring hats!).
