Set in the beautiful green jungle at the back of Turf City, Centaurs Sports offers sports activities for all the family.
We first got to know Centaurs Kids when my son Bertie joined their Saturday morning rugby classes. Four years later, we’re still attending the rugby classes and have also discovered how many other activities and camps Centaurs Sports offers. We have tried and tested them all!
Rugby/Netball:
The kids in yellow and blue – covering the 6 enormous pitches at the back of Turf City on a Saturday morning. Centaurs Sports was set up in 2002 by Tim Lambert and was Singapore’s first junior rugby club coaching from as young as 4 to as old as you want and they welcome both boys and girls. Now they have grown to offer professional coaching in three different sports (from contact rugby, to touch and netball) and there are always opportunities to play in tournaments against other Singapore and ASIAN teams.
Holiday Camps:
Bertie loved this three-day summer camp. Covering 6 different sports and games, as well as two excursions (Bounce and the Beach), plus a chance to go on the famous Centaurs Pit. Camps are six hours long, and last three or five days, depending on the week so slightly longer than some other camps and perfect for working parents.
Check out their October camps here.
The Pit:
The Pit is a military-style obstacle course in the jungle ravine at Centaurs Sports Park (there is nothing else like this in Singapore), with natural and manmade obstacles:
- climbing frames
- scramble nets
- rope swings
- LOTS of mud
- slides
- bank climbs
- team challenges
- and races!
It is every kids’ dream: muddy, wet, and most of all fun! We had Bertie’s 7th birthday party there and all the kids loved it, especially the big mudslide at the end!
We are also signed up for the Parents and Kids Jungle run happening there soon, which is a 5km run, complete with obstacles! The whole family can’t wait!
Having tested out all Centaurs Kids have to offer, my whole family gives it a big thumbs up!
