The revamped Singapore History Gallery takes families through more than 700 years of Singapore’s history after its first full revamp in 20 years, with new artefacts, interactive touchpoints and immersive experiences along the way.
Kids can see a restored 1970s HDB lift, a traditional Nanyang coffee roasting machine and a new timelapse showing how Singapore’s cityscape has changed over more than a decade. There are also tactile elements and interactive experiences designed to bring the stories behind these objects to life.
To mark the reopening and its 139th anniversary, the museum is also hosting Stories of Everyday from 10 to 18 October, with free entries to all permanent galleries (for Singapore Citizens and PRs), live performances, workshops, an art market, special installations and more.
Plus, with the haze lately, this is one outing you can enjoy indoors in the air-con!
