Sassy Scoop: British Council Singapore — the newest contender on the preschool block is accepting enrolments now!

LearnPost Category - LearnLearn - Post Category - SchoolsSchools

There’s a buzz emanating from Tampines right now mama and it’s all about a brand new preschool on the block by the British Council. If you’re not already familiar with these guys they specialise in providing English language learning to families in Singapore and with the launch of their new preschool are extending that learning beyond English language to littlies on the island.

At the heart of the British Council approach is the belief that every child is individual and unique. With a curriculum that is steeped in the best preschool practices from both the United Kingdom and Singapore, preschoolers benefit from a programme that is holistic, balanced and hands-on, with a special focus on language and literacy in the early years. But don’t think for one second that it’s just about the education mama! This new preschool gives little learners plenty of space to explore, discover and learn, through an inquiry-based approach that allows the children’s interests to drive the topics that are researched in class!

And if that wasn’t quite enough, the British Council extends their learning through involvement approach to their teaching of Mandarin too by immersing kiddos in a language-rich bilingual environment. Two teachers, one English-speaking teacher and one Mandarin-speaking teacher, are present in the classroom the whole time, giving littlies the best head-start in both languages at a time when they’re most receptive to learning!

As a one-stop learning centre for families in the East, this nurturing preschool knows that parents need a safe and respectful space for their offspring, so we were rapt to hear that they cap their class sizes at 14 children per class in nursery, and 16 kids per class in the kindergarten levels. There’ll be no toughing it out in an overcrowded classroom here, mama – just the best possible care and attention, all in first-class surrounds too! Each classroom is fully equipped with the latest learning technologies – think interactive whiteboards and digital visualisers – giving kids an early start on becoming totally tech-savvy (there’s nothing quite like preparing them young for the fully-wired 21st century!).

Psst… The British Council follows the Ministry of Education calendar with a 40-week school year, all with an extra 6 weeks of holiday programmes thrown in too (at no extra cost to you – it’s all part of the fee structure mama!).

To book a school visit of this lovely new preschool, head to their website or give them a call at +65 6807 1573 and give your tinies the best head-start at their school education!

It's World Down Syndrome Day today. Let's raise awareness and together acceptance.⁣
We are aware that people with Down Syndrome are the same, deserving of equal rights, equal opportunities and privileges. ⁣
We are aware of what the features associated with Down Syndrome look like, aware of the discrimination and prejudice that people with Down Syndrome sometimes suffer. ⁣
We are aware that the world is not often kind to people with Down Syndrome.⁣
