Celebrate World Breastfeeding Week with these great buys that are guaranteed to keep both mamas and bubs happy

Happy World Breastfeeding Week, mamas! Now in its 22nd year, this celebration organised by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action and heavyweights like UNICEF, the WHO and La Leche League International is all about empowering mamas and babies in their right to breastfeed. Earlier this week, for example, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Pigeon Bottles organised a mass public latch-on for over 130 mums and bubs at United Square. As the week draws to a close, we thought we’d highlight a few of our favourite breastfeeding products and accessories, all available from local, woman-owned businesses!

1. Camellia Lace Bralette from Perk by Kate
As a nursing mama it can sometimes be hard feeling sexy (and not like a 24-hour milk machine), but this stunner from online lingerie boutique Perk by Kate will sort you right out! Her full range of maternity bralettes are not only gorgeous, but designed to easily fold down (or roll up) for breastfeeding convenience.

Find it: Camellia Lace Bralette, $29 at Perk by Kate

2. Milk Making Cookies from Carrotsticks and Cravings
No more traipsing all over Singapore in search of brewers yeast, mama! These yummo cookies are packed with lactation-boosting ingredients like flaxseed and rolled oats, not to mention healthy energy drivers like organic raw nuts, chia seeds and dark chocolate. You’ll be amazed at your increased milk production!

Find it: Milk Making Cookies, $40 per jar (25-35 cookies) at Carrotsticks and Cravings

3. Breast Angels Silverette Healing Cups
Recommended by lactation consultant (and Sassy Mama breastfeeding guru) Jani Combrink, these nifty little cups help heal sore nipples and prevent cracking. Cool and soothing, they’re non-toxic, totally hygienic, and negate the need for any other chemicals or creams. And they can even be passed on to a friend in need when you’re done with them!

Find it: Breast Angels Silverette Healing Cups, $90 at Mother & Child

4. Breastfeeding Signature Rompers
Available in three different sizes and four adorable designs (including one in Malay!), these pro-breastfeeding rompers from BestBaby.com.sg come in super-soft 100% cotton interlock and let your bubs make a statement when you’re out and about.

Find it: Breastfeeding Signature Rompers, $12.90 at BestBaby.com.sg

5. Freemie Freedom Deluxe Hands-Free Breast Pump Set
Breast pumps are obviously essential for working mamas, and what makes this one particularly fabulous is that it allows mamas to pump quietly and efficiently, with milk collection cups hidden discreetly inside your bra! Great for pumping at the office, but just as handy when you’re out and about, cooking dinner, or even carrying your baby around!

Find it: Freemie Freedom Deluxe Breast Pump Set, $299 at Pupsik Studio
