Humidity Proof Mama Makeup: Your 5 Minute Summer Face

Between sizzling hot days, a healthy dose of humidity and random thunderstorms, keeping a mama’s make up looking fresh in Singapore can be a challenge! Not to mention our little lovelies constantly demanding our attention, and finding the time to pop on a bit of lipstick and a splash of mascara can feel kind of impossible. So as part of our recent Sassy Mama Style Guide we asked make up artist, Kelly Bilimoria, to give us a super quick tutorial on creating the perfect summer look for Singapore, and here it is mamas… broken down step by step just for you!

Step 1

Apply tinted moisturizer (Kelly recommends Laura Mercier‘s ever popular formula) or BB Cream to your whole face, making sure you blend around the outer edges of the face.

Step 2

Apply a concealer (Kelly uses Tarte Waterproof Concealer) under your eyes with a dabbing or tapping motion to conceal any imperfections. You can also lightly tap some concealer onto your eye-lids as well, as this will help your eyeshadow last longer.

Step 3

Lightly fill your eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil in the same direction as the hair growth. To give a more natural look uses a cotton bud to blend any harsh lines. Dab a light beige or white eyeshadow under the arc of your eyebrow.

Step 4

Apply a soft peach or gold eyeshadow to the entire lid making sure you blend softly towards the outer edges.

Step 5

Using a gunmetal grey eye pencil, start drawing from the middle of the upper lid and work your way outwards, then line from the middle to the inner corner. Line the bottom lashes starting from the outer corner and lightly drawing until you reach the middle of the eye. This creates a soft, summery definition for your eyes. Apply your favourite mascara next.

Step 6

Swirl a peachy blush or bronzer from the apple of your cheeks in an upwards motion towards the top of your eyes. This gives you a sun kissed look with some definition.

Step 7

Line your lips with a Peach Lipliner, always starting from the middle and working your way towards the outer edges of the lip. To add that matte but moisturized look, apply your favourite Gloss or Lip Balm in clear or Peach.
