If you’ve got a baby on the way we bet you can’t wait to get started in kitting out your baby’s nursery with gorgeous furniture.

Let’s face it, babies spend a lot of time snoozing so you’ll want to make sure you have done your research in getting a good quality cot and most importantly a safe breathable mattress (never second hand). We round up some good options for your child’s room from cot beds to co-sleeping cribs, changing tables and nursing chairs for a stylish baby’s nursery. Best part is there’s no need to traipse around different shops for all this gear – Mothercare stocks them all.

Cot Beds

Mothercare Balham Cot ($249)

How gorgeous is this cot? Such a great way to theme your nursery with the pretty colours of the Mothercare Balham cot in pink, blue and even green, or white for the pureists! The Mothercare Balham cot is a great value option – lovely and simple in design but with all the handy features you’d expect. It features an adjustable base that can be used in three different positions – the highest for young babies so it’s easier to lift them in and out without straining your back, and two lower settings as your little one grows and begins to try and stand to ensure they are kept safely inside.

Silver Cross Nostalgia Cot Bed ( $899)

Inspired by heritage nursery furniture, the solid wood Silver Cross Nostalgia comes in a soft, antique white with delicate detailing.  There are 3-adjustable base positions to grow with your baby and this cot bed can be easily converted into a toddler bed when your child is old enough. Plus points for the baby friendly teething rails plus the generous, full-length storage drawer (with cast pewter effect handles) for stowing away baby’s toys or blankets.

Stokke Home Bed ($1360)

This one is a favourite! Is it a bed, is it a changing station or is it a playhouse? Stokke Home is all these three in one! Stokke Home with its distinct house shape and clean lines is a head turner for sure. You can even accessorise your Stokke Home bed with a cosy roof or tent textiles complete with hanging mobiles or stars. When your child outgrows the bed around the age of 5, you won’t want to part with this so fashion it into a sofa and let your kid use it as a playhouse.

Babyhood Kaylula Sova Cot ($1599)

This one is certainly an attention grabber – great for the trend setter mama. The new Kaylula Sova Cot by Babyhood has a revolutionary design and concept. The unique clear perspex panels provide fantastic visibility  – the panels let you see right into your baby’s cot – and lets your little one gaze out to the world without the constraints of bars. .You can convert the Babyhood Kaylula Soya cot to toddler’s bed too. This cot is on wheels so it’s super easy for moving into different rooms when needed.
