Temasek Foundation SSO Concerts for Children: The Conductor’s Spellbook!

Kids will get to listen to the music and story, written by Paul Dooley, of a boy who finds an amazing book of spells during a trip to the concert hall and uses it to enchant the instruments. While kids listen to the story being told, a real orchestra plays to bring the story to life as illustrations by Tanner Porter are projected on a screen.

The aim of this interactive experience is to cultivate the love of music in everyone from children to parents and even grandparents! Classical music will be presented to kids in an exciting and super engaging way.

At The Conductor’s Spellbook kids will get to learn:

1. All about the families of the orchestra; Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion.
2. What is sound, and how the instruments of the orchestra are able to make beautiful melodies.
3. What a conductor does and how they conduct patterns.
