It’s no secret the Bugaboo Bee & Singapore are a stroller match made in heaven; with dozens of new colour combinations and customisable options, take our quiz to find out your Bee style, mama!

Cruise any online parenting board in Singapore looking for stroller advice, and chances are you’ll come across a recommendation for the bugaboo bee. Compact and light, it’s the ultimate stroller for city living.

“It’s so easy to pop in and out of a taxi with its one-piece fold. It’s substantial enough to be out every day for a walk in the Botanic Gardens, but streamlined enough to fit into a tight corner at a restaurant,” gushes Sassy Mama Kristin, who’s had her Bee for over three years, and now makes use of its scooter seat to transport her toddler and newborn around town together in style.

“Bugaboo has a cool accessory for pretty much any situation,” adds Sassy Mama Anjali. “It has ‘city stroller’ written all over it! Whether we’re popping out for a quick walk to the store, stomping around Singapore Zoo all day, or bringing it with us on a family holiday (by air, by sea and by land!), it’s really sturdy and safe, with a reliable foot brake and seat belts.”

Both mamas’ Bees are still going strong, but mamas on the market for a new set of wheels are in luck: Bugaboo has just debuted the brand new bugaboo bee5 with more comfort and iconic styling options than ever before.

With improved suspension and an all-new padded seat, it’s the most comfortable version of their urban stroller ever (and yet still so compact and convenient!). The wheel suspension has also been overhauled to make for a more comfortable and smoother ride for parents and kiddos alike. And the bugaboo beefeatures 100 new parts to streamline the strolling experience and make parents’ lives easier: there’s no need for adapters as essential accessories like the cup holder, parasol and comfort wheeled board can all click directly in to the stroller!

On top of its versatility (and proven ruggedness), however, what’s always set the bee apart for us is its seemingly unlimited style options. It is the ultimate customisable stroller, with 15 new colours and materials just added to its style portfolio, not to mention changeable wheel caps and cool leather-look grips.

With so many choices (up to 792 combinations, in fact), it can be hard to choose. We’ve fallen particularly hard for the new Signature Collection and its Botanic and Wave print fabrics for the seat, bassinet, and/or sun canopy. As if the bee wasn’t already perfect for Singapore!

With so many choices, take our quiz to figure out What’s your bugaboo beestyle?, mama!

The Bugaboo Bee5 retails in Singapore from $1,149. Find it at MothercareMotherswork and First Few Years.

The #Lifebeyondgrades campaign aims to break the taboo of discussing PSLE scores to stop kids from thinking those results will define who they are or will
become. Here’s Sassy Mama co-founder @mamayeowdevito: “It might come as a surprise, but I just do not remember my PSLE results! I was always non-academic, and only just scraped through PSLE to get into secondary school at St Theresa’s Convent. I recall studying really hard, having lots of late nights, memorising, yet not doing too well. That period of my life is a blur now; maybe I chose to block it out. I knew in secondary school I didn’t want to go to JC and instead researched polytechnic courses for business and marketing.
I found my first job as a marketing communications assistant at Singapore Marriott Hotel even before my last paper at Nanyang Polytechnic. I was so excited about the job that the studying and results of my diploma didn’t matter.
I moved onto Raffles Hotel, then Pan Pacific Hotel and very quickly rose to head marketing roles. There was so much pressure to perform but I always had amazing bosses and mentors watching over me, believing in what I did. I worked 25 hours a day but enjoyed every minute. This type of education - LIFE’s lessons, successes and failures - rather than academic lessons - have been the best education for me.
I am successful in my own right now – both in business and with my beautiful family for which I am grateful. I am so lucky to have found what I love to do and am still loving every minute of it!
I don’t remember my PSLE results but whatever they were, I didn’t let them define me. We should not let numbers define our lives; ultimately it’s much more important to help our children develop a strong character, and encourage them to pursue their personal passions. Because neither failure NOR success can be truly quantified.
A little ball of fluff just landed on your Wednesday!
