From Growing Produce to Jackson Pollock: School Holidays Fun at Between Two Trees

Whether you want your kids to get dirty with hands-on farming fun, or experience the joy and wonder of authors and artists like Dr. Seuss, Georgia O’Keeffe and Eric Carle, Between Two Trees has plenty of ways to keep them busy this school holidays

Between Two Trees is offering four wonderful weeks of holiday workshops for children this November and December, mama! With a beautiful location amidst the greenery of Dempsey Hill and highly qualified, dedicated staff, the school’s Reggio Emilia-inspired approach to holistic learning is a fab way to keep your little ones busy over the school holidays period. Both morning and afternoon sessions are available on a comprehensive Monday-Saturday schedule.

From its lush and lovely campus at Loewen Gardens, B2T will offer unique and innovative holiday camps for little ones ages 4-5, kicking off with Farmers Week in which kiddos can learn about the lifecycle and process of growing produce in the school’s own vegetable garden, while also engaging in artistic expressions of painting and sculpting to hone their observational and thinking skills.

Over the next three weeks children will be immersed in activities focusing on the creative works of well-loved artists, authors and illustrators as varied as Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle, Jackson Pollock and Georgia O’Keeffe, all the while developing their own sense of creative expression.

Keen to expose your kiddo to Mandarin? Weeks 2 and 3 will be offered in both English and Chinese! This works in tandem with the school’s Chinese Language Immersion program, in which each class is led by both an English and native Chinese speaker, which helps children acquire key listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Chinese.

The innovative “B2T Method” is all about nurturing children’s love of learning with a play- and inquiry-based curriculum, all set in a beautiful environment. Indeed B2T’s beautifully renovated heritage black-and-white building with spacious, sun-filled classrooms and a lovely outdoor garden truly set it apart on the Singapore preschool scene, mama.

Through project work that engages children in initiating, selecting and exploring topics of interest for inquiry, their unique emergent curriculum is child-led and teacher-facilitated. Core experiences incorporate visual and culinary arts, music, gardening and outdoor learning activities to develop children’s aesthetic, creative and life skills along with their social and emotional outlook.

Between Two Trees offers preschool programs for children from 18 months to 6 years old at two different campuses, the original Holland Road location (which is a fully-certified childcare) and Between Two Trees Early Learning School at Loewen Gardens (a private school with half-day programs and additional enrichment activities).
