Listen up Mamas, its time to put those long-lost bar skills to work and teach the kids your mixologist tricks. You heard right, its ‘spook’ not ‘spike’ so everyone can get into it – kids, pregnant bellies, breastfeeders, detoxers and alcohol-free Mamas! Join your kids to rustle up a Spooky Spirit (or a few) in a Mocktail Making workshop and competition at the Atrium in Liang Court on 18-19 October and you might win shopping vouchers! Boo-Who you say? Can’t remember recipes let alone ‘who’ you were with? Never fear, DrinkDings Mobile Bar, the mocktail experts will teach everyone three spookylicious recipes at the Saturday 18 October workshop, and then ‘who’ knows? Hazy memories of your Coyote Ugly days might all come back! Boo-hoo indeed Mamas…but keep those fake eyeballs on the prizes! The Spookiest Halloween Mocktail will get $1,000 Audio House Vouchers, the Tastiest Halloween Mocktail gets $800 Audio House Vouchers and the Best Dressed Mocktail Artist will have $500 Audio House Vouchers.

Before you run to your local, mamas, note that the following ingredients will be provided towards your creative concoctions: Apple, Cranberry, Lime, Lychee, Mango, Orange, Passionfruit and Pineapple juices, Blueberry, Green Apple, Grenadine, Mango, Passionfruit and Peach syrups and Blue, Green and Red colouring. A 3-piece shaker, strainer, bar spoon, muddler, small decanter for juices, cutting board, knife, gloves, and dishware will also assist your preparations. Like any good games Mamas and children, there are the following rules: participants may bring only one fresh fruit and one juice from home; a secret recipe will be provided and must be used to make the mocktail; the mocktail has to be completed (including garnishing) within 120 seconds; not more than three types of juices may be used, not more than two types of syrup, and not more than one type of colouring; the drinks must be served in the provided glassware; whilst any method of preparation is allowed, muddling of fresh fruit is compulsory but any sort of garnishing is allowed.

So get muddling Mamas and don’t forget to dress in your spookiest best with the kids!
