Spend a day out cycling or flying kites at West Coast Park with its eight playgrounds including the pirate ship with sand play, huge pyramid climbing structure, inclusive West Coast Park playgrounds and flying foxes.

Has it been a while since you’ve visited West Coast Park? Although a bit smaller than its East Coast Park counterpart, West Coast Park packs a punch in 50 hectares of land, with its collection of diverse playgrounds, cycling trails, and campgrounds. Your family will have no shortage of things to do on your day out to West Coast Park! Plus there’s coffee nearby too thanks to West Coast Park Mcdonald’s!

The highlight for families is of course the West Coast Park playgrounds! These can be found at West Coast Park Area 3 (which is also near the West Cost Park McDonald’s). This area boasts eight distinct playgrounds to cater to different ages and abilities.

The West Coast Park playgrounds will enhance any creative and active play from the pirate ship to the tall climbing pyramid with two super slides. Kids can play in the sand pit and enjoy the swings – there are bigger kid swings and bucket swings for tots.

There’s even an inclusive playground (currently under renovation until end Q1 2024) that is wheelchair accessible to allow differently-abled kiddos to join the fun.

A favourite West Coast Park Playground with older kids is the flying fox and obstacle course.

There’s even a nature playground to enhance kids’ agility while navigating log stumps.

Tired and hungry from hours in the sun? The playgrounds are well-supported by a conveniently located West Coast Park Mcdonald’s. What’s nice about the Mcdonald’s West Coast Parks is the outdoor pavilion where you can eat (it’s covered and has fans but is outdoors) so you can watch the kids play nearby while you enjoy that iced coffee. West Coast Park Mcdonald’s also offers a Drive-Thru option too. This section of West Coast Park can be accessed by West Coast Park Carpark 3.

In addition to the diverse playgrounds, this section of West Coast Park has a huge Grand Lawn where you can fly kites, play soccer or have a picnic. If you are keen to reserve a spot on the Grand Lawn for a large gathering head over to NParks.gov.sg to book.

Past the Grand Lawn is the lookout Jetty where you can see ships in the harbour. Check out the West Coast beach volleyball courts and the West Coast beach play area, too! There’s no sandy beach to play on at West Coast Park however. If you’re looking for long sandy beaches check out our guide to the best beaches in Singapore.

Just on the very edge of West Coast Park there’s also the Marsh Garden, where you can enjoy birdwatching for the White-breasted Waterhen and Striated Heron.

West Coast Dog Run, Trail Hiking

The eastern end of West Coast Park is serviced by West Coast Park Carpark 1. Here you’ll find a selection of nature trails and a huge dog run to exercise your pup, including a dog-friendly obstacle course! There’s even a self-service dog wash station to clean your furry friend off after exercising.

Getting to West Coast Park by MRT
Take the MRT to Clementi (East West Line) or Haw Par Villa (Circle Line) and take a bus from there to West Coast Park.

Getting to West Coast Park by Car
West Coast Park lies along the West Coast Highway, and with three carparks to choose from, it’s just a matter of selecting which area you want to visit. West Coast Park carpark 1, carpark 2, carpark 3 and the McDonald’s West Coast Park parking lots.

Getting to West Coast Park by Taxi
There are three areas with car parks along West Coast Highway. Pick which part you want to visit, and you can be dropped off at the nearest carpark.

Getting to West Coast Park by public transport
Bus lines that stop near West Coast Park include 30, 175, 176, 183, 201, 282.
