Work out with your kids at a new family-friendly fitness and martial arts centre in Clarke Quay, mama!

Ever wondered if there was a place where you could drop your kids off at a class and not just sit around waiting for them to finish, but instead do something useful with that hour and get fit yourself? Look no further mamas, this is genius! FaMA (Fitness and Martial Arts), Singapore’s newest family friendly fitness and martial arts centre is now open in the heart of Clarke Quay!

My 7-year-old son has been going to Taekwondo every Saturday for the past year. He loves it, and I’m so happy he has found something he’s inspired and passionate about. My hubby and I take turns in taking him to his 1-hour class in Novena. A bit of a trek and we end up sitting there watching him and sometimes walking aimlessly around the mall, buying stuff we don’t need. Time not very well spent, if you ask me!

So when Sassy Mama heard there was a new fitness and martial arts centre where you can exercise whilst your kid was being fully occupied in their own martial arts class, we had to go and give it a try. So I dragged the hubby and son to go check it out!

FaMA opened in November and combines fitness and martial arts for the whole family, making it fun and accessible for anyone young or old and at any level of fitness. Drop your kids into their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program – open to kids ages 4 to 12, and taught by 1st degree black belt and FaMA co-founder Bruno Amorim – and you can saunter off to your own FaMA Fitness class, mama.

Spanning a massive 4,500 square feet in Clarke Quay, the classes for adults and separate kids’ classes are held in the same open space so that you and your little one can see each other get fit and sweaty together.

FaMA’s fabulous facilities cater to all their students young and old. You can have a shower after your workout – they have a complimentary towels with every visit, and a decked out lounge and relaxation area for you to chill in, with an assortment of complimentary beverages on tap.

Go try it out mama. My hubby loved the blended martial arts fitness and he definitely worked up a sweat!

Classes run every Monday to Friday at 5pm and Saturdays at 10am. Kids are priced at $200 per month or a 12 month package and membership for $2,400. Adults start at $35 for a day pass (if you buy a 40 pass package) and $300 per month (if you buy a 12 month package). Click here to see the full schedule.
