AI Curriculum? XCL World Academy Launches New Cutting-edge Tech Programme for Grade 6 Students!

This innovative 15-week AI curriculum is designed for Grade 6 students and will seamlessly integrate into the IB Middle Years Programme starting in August 2024.

AI curriculum is part of XWA’s IB

This curriculum is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of generative AI, help them master technical skills, and learn how to design meaningful apps that will help them find solutions to real-world problems. Developed in collaboration with SureStart, a leading educational organisation renowned for its expertise in AI curriculum development for middle school and college, this course will be led by a Harvard teaching fellow and instructors from XWA. Throughout the course, students will delve into the core principles of AI technology and app development. Additionally, they will engage with modules addressing ethical considerations surrounding AI, as well as lessons on leadership and collaboration.

Tech mentors from Harvard, MIT, and NYU

Another highlight of the programme is the provision of technical mentors who are studying Computer Science or related fields at top US universities such as Harvard, MIT, and NYU. As part of their capstone project, students will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of experienced judges during the “Create-a-thon”.This experience will not only enhance students’ entrepreneurial and presentation skills but also equip them with a competitive edge in the field of AI.

Impressive new school facilities for technology innovation

To support the programme and further prepare students for the future, XWA recently opened the new Innovation Hub, a multi-storey facility seamlessly integrating technology and innovation to provide students with a world-class learning environment. This state-of-the-art hub features a black box theatre, esports arena, design centre, and specialised labs, all aimed at fostering creativity, exploration, collaboration and inspiration among students. The Innovation Hub is just one example of the emphasis XWA places on non-traditional, holistic educational experiences. At XWA, the future has arrived!
