Looking for a family-friendly bite in VivoCity? Head to Jamie’s Italian mamas! Jamie Oliver’s first restaurant in South-East Asia specialises in home-cooked Italian goodies like fresh pasta (made on site each morning!), antipasti plates and naughty desserts including warm brownies, tiramisu and creamy panna cotta. Yummy!
The kids’ menu deserves a special shoutout — presented in a retro viewfinder, little ones will love it! The kids menu items are nutritionally balanced (as you’d expect from Jamie Oliver, healthy eating pioneer!) – they use sustainable fish for their fish fingers and a healthy yoghurt dipping sauce for the chicken lollipops which are made with delicious chicken fillet, no pink slime here! The ‘shake-me’ salad that accompanies each kids menu item comes in a little jar and kids will love to get involved by shaking it so the dressing mixes in the salad.
If you’re stopping for dinner, dads will be happy to sip on an ice-cold draft beer brewed exclusively for Jamie’s Italian Singapore, while mama can order up a perfect Bellini. While the resto doesn’t accept reservations, there should be plenty of room for everybody with 210 seats available, including a mini outside terrace (with a herb garden for the little ones to explore!) if you’re after an al fresco experience and don’t mind the heat.
With colouring sheets for mini diners, and plenty of highchairs on hand, this will be a new must-visit hotspot for fam-friendly dining in Singapore — put it on your to-do list mamas! As a bonus, Is your kid’s upcoming birthday party scaring the heebie jeebies out of you with all that party prep? If your munchkin’s a budding chef, Jamie’s Vivocity do pasta making and focaccia making parties (min 8 kids).
Its $45 per kid and you get a 2.5hr session at Jamie’s Italian Restaurant, where kids will learn how to make focaccia bread – that’s hands on mixing, kneading and tasting focaccia plus a demo on pasta making, a go on their pasta churning machine and ending with a little chat about herbs overlooking their herb pots. After which kids get to sit down to some tasty (healthy) kids fare like free range chargrilled chicken fillet skewers with lemony yoghurt and hedgehog potatoes or ‘Jamie’s Proper Picnic Box’, which includes chicken wrap, vegetable crisps, seedless grapes, juicy cherry tomatoes & a piece of fruit.
It’s great for 4-12 year olds (Accompanying adults are encourage to supervise their children), and costs $45 per person, including: Focaccia Making Lesson led by a chef, Mini-foccaica to take home, Kids meal and fruit infused water, complimentary birthday brownie for birthday kid, and an Activity Kit!
